Croydon is a mini city within London. Located south of the river some would argue it’s not London at all, but with fast train links into the city, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Croydon is located in South London close to the M25 but with fast train links to London Victoria and London Bridge. Transport from Croydon can also take you to Gatwick airport for your holiday, or to Brighton for a weekend coastal getaway.
Croydon is home to an outdoor market, two indoor shopping centres and a high street so there are plenty of shops to explore. Venture a little further out of Croydon and you will find Purley Way which boasts even more shops, a cinema, Oxygen Freejumping and Croydon Airport, which is home to a lovely and afternoon tea.
Croydon is constantly building new homes and apartments close to East Croydon station for young professionals and families. You’ll be sure to find a great view from one of their new high-rise apartment buildings.
BOXPARK Croydon brings street food, fine dining and craft beer & to South London. With an array of restaurants and bars to choose from there truly is something for everyone. Hosting events and live streams, boxpark is the place to be on a Friday and Saturday night.
Wandle Park is an 8.5-hectare park located in the Broad Green Ward of Croydon. It was opened in 1890 by the Mayor of Croydon. The park boats beautiful scenery in the summer and a walk along the River Wandle is sure not to be missed. Spot local dogs chasing after a ball, or head on over the the CroyWall for a spot of rock climbing.
The Museum of Croydon is a museum located within the Croydon Clocktower arts facility in Central Croydon. It showcases historical and cultural artefacts relating to the London Borough of Croydon and its people. The museum is owned and run by Croydon Council.
Arguable one of the best restaurants in the borough. Theatrical, red-velvet decor awaits you inside, accompanied by modern European food. They also have live opera on Mondays and Wednesdays.
