Renting in London can be expensive, so it’s likely that you’re looking for ways to save your pennies. Charity shopping is one of the best ways to save money, and South London is full of them. We’ve scouted out the best charity shops in South London, so you can give your wardrobe a refresh.

The Best Charity Shops in Balham

When you’re looking for charity shops in South London, Balham is the most convenient place to go. With all the charity shops located fairly close to each other, you can hop between them as you hunt for bargains. The area is also fairly modern and home to a slightly younger demographic, meaning the clothes are likely to be more on trend! Although there are a lot of charity shops in Balham, these are our top picks.

Cancer Research
First up we have Cancer Research, which is filled to the brim with bargains. You can find brands such as Zara, Topshop and Gap. As well as a large selection of knitwear and party dresses. If it’s books you’re after then you’re in luck, as next door you’ll find Oxfam Books.

The British Heart Foundation
Next up is the British Heart Foundation, located on the same street as Cancer Research. Here they offer an ‘under £5 rail.’ This is a rarity in London and despite the price, you can still find popular high street brands.

Fara
If you’re after some designer bargains, then head a little further on to Fara. Here you’ll find brands like All Saints and Ted Baker. They also stock high street brands like Mango, Asos and H&M. Although the prices are a little more expensive here, you can expect to find a designer item at a fraction of its original price.

Royal Trinity Hospice (H4)
You can also go hunting for high end bargains in the Royal Trinity Hospice. They have a strong focus on sustainability, without compromising on the price. Offering a range of women’s and men’s high street fashion, with designer items hidden amongst the rails.

If you’re after more charity shops in South London, then the next place to head is Brixton. Whilst not having as many shops as Balham, it still has some strong contenders.

Barnardo’s
Located right on the main high street, Barnardo’s is a huge charity shop stocking a mixture of bric-a-brac, clothes and accessories. You can spend hours sifting through the shelves to find the perfect oversized denim jacket, or a retro designer shirt. Because of the size of this shop, there’s a range of sizes and styles that cater to everyone.

Traid is the one stop shop for vintage clothing lovers, with multiple stores dotted across the city.
