Settling back into university after several weeks off for summer can be difficult. You may have had to move back into your family home temporarily and then back out again for the start of your next term. It was probably a little chaotic right? And with the start of the new uni year fast approaching, it can be difficult to get back into the swing of things after the long break. Luckily, we’ve put together this useful guide, to help you get back into uni mode after the summer holidays.

Ease back into university

You may think jumping right into everything is the right way to go about settling back into uni after the summer holidays. However, this could actually cause you more anxiety and stress. Make sure you take your time and ease back into your studies and coursework. You may have not been able to see your university friends during the summer, so take the opportunity to grab a coffee and hang out before or after a lecture. Having a good support team around you will also help you to ease back into university life

Use to-do lists

To-do lists are a great and easy way to help breakdown your time and priorities important tasks. These tasks can be anything, from taking out the bins to buying that new textbook you need for your course. Ticking off tasks also gives you a sense of achievement and satisfaction. No matter how small the task is, you’ll feel like you’ve completed something! Download our FREE to-do task here

Create a revision timetable

If you know you’re going to have lots of exams this year it’s important to think ahead and start planning a revision timetable. This will help you to break down which areas of your course you need to study. You could colour code the timetable so you know which you find harder, and spend more time studying those. Remember to also include breaks and time to socialise with friends, as this is super important during exam season too. We have a free downloadable revision timetable here, and you can watch our YouTube video to help guide you through creating the best possible revision timetable

Make home life easier

University isn’t the only thing to think about when getting back into the swing of things at the start of a new year. Having a great environment at home can be really beneficial to your university career.
