Nola

Open from 8am to 4pm, Nola is a bright and airy coffee shop with plenty of seating and charging outlets. You can sit with a coffee at the bar style window seat, or there’s plenty of tables throughout the rest of the cafe. If you get peckish, they serve an all day brunch menu and fresh pastries. F. Mondays 

Another one of our favourite London cafes to work in is F. Mondays. This quaint spot in Brixton has plenty of seating, as well as a large bench table perfect for work meetings. There’s charging outlets dotted about and a large window seat too. You’ll also find a small garden filled with benches tucked around the back of the cafe. (112a Brixton Hill, Brixton)

Stir Coffee 

If you’re finding yourself flagging and struggling to get your work done, head to Stir Coffee for a hit of caffeine. Once you’re settled with your pastry and a coffee, make the most of the large tables with plenty of natural sunlight. It goes without saying that they also provide charging stations and good Wi-Fi. Once your work day is over, you can treat yourself to one of their craft beers! (111 Brixton Hill, Brixton)

Lumberjack 

Located in Camberwell, Lumberjack is a charming coffee shop with fresh coffee and baked goods. The staff are more than happy for customers to work here, with stable Wi-Fi and an entire upstairs section with large, laptop friendly tables. They are also fully stocked each day with sourdough bread, pastries, meats and cheeses. Perfect for when you can’t be bothered to cook dinner at the end of your working day. (70 Camberwell Church St, Camberwell)

Juliet’s Quality Food

If you need some food to power you through your mountain of assignments, head to Juliet’s in Tooting. This cafe offers plenty of seating, charging outlets and friendly staff. With a vast breakfast and lunch menu, this is one of our top London cafes to work in. If you’re craving daylight after a day hunched over your laptop, there’s also an outdoor courtyard for a breath of fresh air. (110 Mitcham Road)

Rude Health Cafe 

This colourful spot has large communal benches and free Wi-Fi, perfect for remote workers in London. Rude Health pride themselves on great coffee and wholesome, nutritious food. Bring your laptop down and grab a healthy breakfast before tackling your workload. (212 New King’s Rd, Putney)

The Peckham Pelican 

Last but not least, we have The Peckham Pelican,  a bohemian style cafe with comfy sofa and large wooden tables. This spot has plenty of natural light and plug sockets, as well as incredibly affordable food. Grab a hot chocolate and settle on one of the sofas as you plough through emails. Pret 

Although it’s not an independent coffee shop, we have to give an honourable mention to Pret. With free Wi-Fi, plenty of seating and plugs, you can spend hours in this chain coffee shop without having to worry about spending a fortune on drinks. The staff are more than happy for you to set up camp and crack on with some work. It’s made even more affordable with the addition of their Pret coffee subscription for £20 a month. We recommend the hummus and chipotle wrap, or the porridge if you’re in for breakfast.
