PLYMOUTH AREA GUIDE

Ideal for students seeking open space, friendly faces and the buzz of a metropolis, this is ‘Britain’s Ocean City’. Plymouth is home to one of the UK’s largest Universities with a thriving student population. The spectacular coastline is enjoyed from the historical Barbican, filled with restaurants bars and attractions.

On a beautiful sunny day students often find themselves gathering at the Hoe, the natural heart of Plymouth. Take a picnic and revision notes and enjoy a day spent on luscious green lawns. You could also dip in Tinside Lido and revel in the spectacular views of the natural harbour.

Students in Plymouth mostly live in Mutley or North Hill. Both areas are in walking distant to the city centre, the Hoe and both campuses. With a train station just 5 minutes away and all your friends living around the corner, everything is on your doorstep.

Can you crack the code? Challenge yourself and see how long it takes you to break out of Plymouths new ‘Escape Rooms’. After this encounter it is likely you’ll need to wind down with your friends. Head back towards The Roundabout, a popular student venue offering live sports on TV as well as great pub food, ‘pound a pint’ nights and weekly pub quizzes.
Discover an underwater world at the UK’s Biggest Aquarium. Here you can settle for the night and have a sleepover with sharks or peak into the deepest tank filled with more than 4000 inhabitants, Plymouth has something to offer everyone.
