Kentish Town is located in northwest London, in the London Borough of Camden. Less than four miles north of central London, Kentish Town has good transport connections and is situated close to the open spaces of Hampstead Heath.
Situated in Zone 2 on the Northern Line, it’s the perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre. A seemingly excellent place for commuters or university students, who want the best of both worlds.

Kentish Town Road has a blend of independent shops and cafes mixed with chain stores and restaurants. Since it’s so central to everything else, Kentish Town Road is a great place to catch up with friends or to grab a morning coffee before heading to your lectures.
Towards the north of Kentish Town is the iconic Hampstead Heath. The heath is over 800 acres, with multiple ponds and swimming pools for you to take a quick dip. As well as a zoo, a café and various picturesque viewpoints for you to enjoy on a lazy Sunday. There's also a farmers market on Saturdays, who doesn’t love an afternoon browsing the various cheese and fruit stalls?

Compared to its noisier neighbour Camden, Kentish Town is much quieter and less busy during peak times. The Met Police have rated the area safe with low to average crime, meaning it's safe for students and those wanting to live in the residential area.
There are various ways to get to Kentish Town, and each one is easy, quick and no hassle at all. The area is situated on the Northern Line in Zone 2, so it's quick to get into the city and cheap too. If you want to breathe in the sights of the city, you can easily walk from King's Cross Station to Kentish Town in about 30 minutes, passing landmarks like St Pancras Lock, Gasholder Park and Camden Market. If a bus ride is more your thing, then Kentish Town is blessed with loads of bus services going to and from the area.
Besides the obvious of walking to Camden and having a stroll around the markets, Kentish Town has so many hidden gems for you to explore. More and more independent stores, cafes and coffee shops are popping up and aiming for the younger generation for their demographic. There is also Talacre Gardens, a quaint park perfect for a picnic and the Kentish Town City Farm, the UK's first city farm where you can visit all kinds of cute farm animals from cows and horses to the odd chicken roaming around.
There aren't many universities in Kentish Town, but there are surrounding the area, making it a great place if you want to commute in for your lectures and live away from your university. There is the Open University based in Camden and the London Metropolitan University which is around 14 minutes on the tube.
