Shopaholics look away now... With the title of largest shopping centre in Europe, Westfield London certainly has something for everyone. The centre has a retail floor area of 2.6 million square feet and homes around 320 stores. Westfield London has 5 floors, including a food court with over 80 places to eat and drink, Vue cinema, bowling alley and mini-golf. Even though this is the biggest shopping centre, it only pulls in half of what Westfield Stratford City accumulates annually, so if you’re looking for a “quieter” shopping experience, this is a good choice.
An iconic piece of history for the Shepherd’s Bush area is the Shepherd’s Bush Market, established in 1914 and still going today. The market has a mix of stalls and stores ranging from food, groceries and clothing, making it a colourful, vibrant place to visit. It’s open six days a week and has it’s very own tube station so getting there won’t be a problem!
Shepherd’s Bush is fortunate to have an excellent music, arts and culture scene. One of the iconic entertainment venues within the area is the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, a music venue since 1994. The Empire has seen the likes of Elton John and Bon Jovi, to more modern artists like Billie Eilish and Childish Gambino. Since the venue has very small capacity at only 2,000, it’s an intimate spot for smaller gigs and ‘surprise’ warm-up concerts.
